STOVE/OVEN SHUTDOWN AND CLEANUP

Overnight Rentals

Please budget 1-2 hours to clean both stoves thoroughly before your departure. A cleaning fee will be applied if adequate cleaning is not performed.

Supplies needed: Charcoal scrubber, flat top scraper, water, degreaser, oven cleaner, rags/sponges

Complete these steps while pilots are still lit

      • Clean flat top

      • Pour a little bit of water and use the charcoal scrubber followed by the scraper to clear grease and debris
Do not use degreaser or any chemicals on the flat top

      • All debris should be pushed into the grease trap

      • Clear any debris in the grease trap hole

      • Remove and empty the grease trap (easier to do while grease is warm). Dispose of grease in a closed container in the trash

      • Ensure that all water has evaporated and reseason the flat top surface with vegetable oil

Cut propane by closing the red valves behind the stove to the off position. (Each stove has its own shutoff valve.)

Clean all surfaces from top to bottom (Soap and water or Simple Green may be used on stainless steel surfaces only):

        • Top shelf above burners

        • All back splashes and side splashes

        • Drip trays below burners

        • Handles/knobs (ensure all knobs are left in the off position)

        • Oven doors and top of the access panels located directly beneath oven doors

Wipe any spilled food inside ovens.

        • Clean all oven racks

        • Use spray oven cleaner if needed to remove baked-on spills on sides and bottom of oven (cleaner is in supply closet)

Clean all debris from cast iron stovetop grates. Please do not wash these with water (to avoid rust) unless you are experienced with reseasoning cast iron cookware.

        That's the end
